Dale Tope is licensed as an Acupuncturist by the Texas State Board of Acupuncture Examiners. He is also a board-certified Diplomat in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is also on the adjunct faculty at Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. A nurse for over 18 years, he is able to professionally communicate with all members of the health care community.
Dale writes, “As an acupuncturist, nurse and educator, I feel it is my duty and responsibility to keep my patients informed throughout the entire process of their care. One of my patients’ complaints about the health care profession is that they are left in the dark all too often. During the intake, my patients know the recommended course of treatment, and we discuss all options; during the treatment, I explain the purpose of the points I’m using, and at the end of treatment, I explain fully what they need to do until the next treatment, how to take their herbs, and suggest lifestyle changes that will make their recovery more successful.”
“I consider the combination of acupuncture and an herbal formula in most cases to be the optimal method of treatment. If a formula is indicated, it is provided in patent (pill) form at no charge to the patient, as long as they are being actively treated. For conditions that require more aggressive treatment with a decocted formula (one using raw herbs, cooked and vacuum packed), I will place an order for the formula online, and provide the means for the patient to pay for it and coordinate shipping at very reasonable cost.
Once a patient is no longer being actively treated, if they still require herbal treatment, I will provide an online source that we know sells only the highest quality Chinese herbal formulas, at very reasonable prices and delivery fees. If I do not have the formula you need in our in-house stock, I can usually get it to you within 1-2 business days. I’m not in the business of selling herbs, I’m in the business of helping people get better.”
