The Epitome of the Word – Crystal
by Renee Avard
As the power stone and often called the ‘Universal Crystal’, the Quartz has many different qualities and the ability to do such a vast number of things so we are blessed it is one of the most popular and easiest stones to find. The clear quartz, more than any other, is what most people envision when they hear the word crystal. It also can be found in other stones such as Amethyst, the varying types of other quartz such as Rose and even in Tourmaline, which you may remember is a favorite of mine.
The Quartz has many functions which includes thought enhancement, adding balance and focus to life, and the power to direct and amplify energy. It is also great to include when needing to manifest, to bring about healing, to have more focused meditation and is also wonderful when needing to channel. They are also good for storing and then retrieving important information makes for ease in programming the stone for a specific purpose.
This is all fun and good information to know and have, but, the emotions the Quartz brings about in me are what I find fascinating. It can be a small piece, a large cluster, a wand, rough or tumbled – the more love and appreciation you give this little gem, the more it will love you right back. For me, I go through the 3 ‘S’s’, all of which are very needed in my life, especially at this point in time. I have stopped finding these things surprising and questioning how it came to be and to just Trust .. and Allow. Life knows – always.
The first ‘S’ I feel is security. Even handling my smaller Quartz, I feel the safety net it tosses around me. My fingers trace the sides and the top – this particular one is small and almost a wand – and it is gorgeous, from the smooth sides to rougher areas, it catches the light and I notice how much actually reflects from the surface. Trust becomes the key emotion at this point. Looking at the stone, there are spots where I almost see myself. This reflection shows me the power I do have in my life and how clear I actually am able to see things. So, the security I feel when handling this stone, it’s indescribable and very welcomed.
Serenity is the next emotion. There are few other words that evoke such peace and contentment in me. The world seems to almost stop, so that you can catch up, and then a wave of emotion floods you and there is no other word that could possibly due this moment justice. Serene. Pure, utter bliss. I love that word, too – bliss – so for a crystal to bring about these kind of emotions for me – it signals that it is the right moment and time to have this stone here. Often, for me, it also can quiet my thoughts and slow down the anxiety that I feel at times. Absolute serenity and the stillness that comes with it is a major reason I am drawn to this stone.
And, finally, I feel stability. Due to the longevity of the Quartz, and the copious amounts of it available, I have this feeling imparted in me that it will be available and there should I need it. I know that might seem a bit different to say and feel regarding an object, but it gives me a very peaceful and stable feeling, not to mention crystals are not just objects. Life has taken me to the highest of mountain tops to the lowest of the valleys and sometimes all within the same hour. So, when I find something that brings me the feeling of stability, I immediately know I need it in my world.
In closing, if I ever found myself stranded on a desert island, Quartz is easily the one crystal I would want to have with me. Not only is it easy to program; it’s protective, balancing and it brings 3 ultimate ‘S’s into my life; basically, it is the ultimate metaphysical crystal tool. Not to mention it is one of the most powerful healing stones there is. I am off to spend time meditating with mine and doing my version of ‘Om’ — ‘SSS’ …
