This is the first level of Gendai Reiki. This class is for both people who have had Reiki from another teacher, or for the first-time student.
Gendai Reiki was developed by Sensei Hiroshi Doi. Gendai means Modern, and it is a combination of both Traditional and Western Style Reiki Techniques.
Western style here is defined as the branch of Reiki that started from the Hayashi/Takata Lineage. The student is provided with a manual, on-line access to the Healing Bells CD and correct Japanese pronunciations of the terms, the Shoden Level Reiju (3 attunements), and a Japanese Certificate.
The students will learn the history of Reiki, the differences between western style and traditional style reiki, how energy systems work and how information is communicated.
Emphasis is placed on learning the 5 principles, or Gokai, and their use in every day life and how they can help us achieve happiness and increase our spirituality.
The students will learn the basic hand positions to work on themselves, and will be shown how to work on family and friends, although the emphasis of this class is on personal growth, development, and healing. First the mind heals, then the body.
Class is approved for 8CEs through the NCBTMB.
Class size is limited so that students receive adequate instruction and attention.
