Located at the corner of Westgate and William Cannon (6800 Westgate Blvd.), this interactive, theatrical bazaar will feature “Makers” offering one-of-a-kind gifts including antiques, jewelry, clothing, toys and art as well as practical items. Many items are repurposed, refashioned or upcycled, a feel-good antidote to rampant consumerism. Localfood cart vendors, pastry chefs, confectioners and chocolatiers will be offering food samples, food for sale and gifting as well demos.
Festive music will fill the air both days, redolent of other ages and places. There will be a play area for kids of all ages featuring the Edge of Imagination Station – which allows users to easily create stop motion animated films – as well as a number of other interactive play stations.
The underlying mission of the event is to support and inspire community sustainability, “slow” living, family and food movements, keep our dollars local, while simultaneously inspiring and encouraging the Do It Yourself (DIY) ethos at all levels of the community.
