Saturday and Sunday March 19th and 20th, 2011
Basic Watsu® Class is a 16 hour introduction to watsu® (water shiatsu) done in a warm shallow pool. There are 6 hours of interactive land instruction and discussion, and 10 hours in the warm pool. Students enjoy giving and receiving equally. Learning the heart breath connection, you can stay grounded in your stance while you float and stretch someone to the rhythm of your connected breath.
You will be led through a simple but complete form. You learn how to safely float someone, do some basic moves, and do a completion. Upon completion of this class, you will be able to do a short session for friends and family.
This class is an excellent way to “test the waters” and find out if you enjoy giving this water work, and decide if you want to pursue further training. As in each stage of a Watsu® program, the form learned has its own organic unity, and can be repeated over and over without ever loosing its freshness or benefits for both giver and receiver.
You can take this class to deepen your meditation, your relationship to water, your connection to others. If you are a Texas LMT, and need CEU’s, this class will be different from anything you have ever done…it is fun, interactive, and while in the water, you receive as much as you give. This class is a 2 day intensive. If you like body work, energy work, and warm water, check it out !
Further in depth information available on the website of the WORLDWIDE AQUATIC BODYWORK ASSOCIATION http://www.waba.edu .
Some people even take this class to receive a lot of aquatic body work at a much reduced cost. I personally describe the work as “The most relaxing kind of body work in the whole wide world”. Watsu works on more than just the physical body. It was originally designed to work on the meridian systems ( zen shiatsu), yet it can not be so limiting. Watsu works on all the bodies…Physical, Mental, Emotional, & Spiritual also known as the PEMS.
When you consider all the qualities of water, you have all the dualities…stillness, and dynamic movement ~ shallow and depth ~ an incredible vessel for holding sacred energy, which can be just that, a vessel or can assist with amplifying and or multiplying energy. Change may be smooth. There is an aspect of clarity. When a body is floated, there is an element of weightlessness. Every tendon, ligament, joint is free to articulate in ways it cannot on land or table.
