Nerissa’s new book contains more than 75 gluten-free recipes, ranging from basic Acorn Squash Sandwich Bread to Lemon-Rosemary Flatbread to Sunflower Seed Cookies. This cookbook is perfect for people following a paleo diet or trying to avoid gluten, grains, yeast and sugar.

Join Nerissa for her book signing event following the 9:25am and 11:25am services on Sunday, December 7, at Unity Church of the Hills, in the main foyer by the Bookstore. Look for food samples that may be available.

About the Author

Nerissa Oden is an Austin, Texas native and former professional film and video editor turned health advocate. In 2007 her focus turned to health as it relates to food, after experiencing a paradigm shift based on the discovery that she had food sensitivities.

Nerissa has interviewed experts and individuals about their food sensitivity journey, and posts the free recordings on her website to help educate others. Her main goal is to inform and encourage others to identify their individual food sensitivities, and how to eat around their sensitivities.

She began writing monthly articles in 2009 for Austin All Natural magazine, a free publication circulating in and around Austin, Texas. She began writing another monthly article in 2011 for Wimberley Valley News and Views. In 2014 she started a third monthly article for a new magazine, Austin in the Loop, circulating in the South Austin area.

Nerissa’s preponderant food sensitivities include dairy, bakers and brewers yeasts, sesame, soy, black pepper, tree nuts and peanuts. Using her creativity she developed a way to make healthy breads, mostly from vegetables, that look, act and feel like traditional sandwich bread, but taste even better. Her husband is bestselling author and “Secret” movie star, Dr. Joe Vitale.
