Designer Sharon Miller’s work is known for touching all the senses and harmoniously balancing and lifting the energy of residents. Through Calming Spaces Interiors, Design and Remodeling she addresses the functional needs of a space while applying the principles of Feng Shui. Using the three “R’s” of design: recover, refurbish and re-purpose, she also turns bargain furniture into designer pieces on a nominal budget. Her vignettes at Home Consignment Center feature this design balancing act and serve as examples for her free workshops.
The first 2011 Do It Yourself by Design workshops are Saturday, February 5 and Sunday February 6, at 1:00 p.m., at the Bee Caves location of Home Consignment, 12812 Shops Parkway 78738. The workshops are free and no RSVP is required.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Miller will offer tips for the love and relationships corner of the Feng Shui Bagua. Miller and her team create room vignettes from consignment pieces available in the store. The workshop reviews Miller’s process to create the vignettes, and also offers a question and answer session. Participants are welcome to bring photos and blueprints of their spaces or projects and ask for advice.
