Saturday – November 9th, 2019. At Unity Church of the Hills.
Dear friends, we are saddened by the passing of our friend and colleague, Michael Abedin. He was a respected friend and a pillar in Austin’s spiritual/metaphysical community. Please find details below about his Celebration of Life service, and a letter from Michael’s other half, Karen Hayden. Please help pass this news on to others who knew Michael and to those who would like to help out or attend his Celebration.
If you would like to assist the family at this time, please read all the way through to learn how. Also, watch this space for updates as they become available.
Letter From Karen Hayden
“Friends, I am so sorry to share that Austin All Natural magazine’s publisher/editor, Michael Abedin, made his transition on October 13th, at 10pm. He had Stage 4 colorectal cancer. He was not diagnosed until mid-September, even though he was feeling ill and going through many tests and procedures since February. He spent the last 2 months in Dell Seton Hospital. Gratefully, he was able to come home for 5 days before he passed.
Michael always said, “I have no obligation to Keep Austin Weird, I am one of the ones who made it that way.” For sure, Austin is a little less weird without him.
Michael’s Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, November 9th, at 6pm at Unity Church of the Hills (9905 Anderson Mill Road). All are welcome.
Please attend and please share this info with others in our community who knew and loved Michael. Let’s joyfully celebrate our friend, teacher, mentor, the one-of-a-kind Renaissance Man who touched all of our lives. His contribution to Austin’s holistic and metaphysical community was significant and should be celebrated.
The magazine team is putting together a Tribute Issue of Austin All Natural to honor Michael. It will hit the stands on November 9th.
Also, if you have photos of Michael from over the years that you would like to be considered for inclusion in the photo slideshow for the Celebration of Life, please email them to karen@rivden.com.
I am heartbroken that my arms are no longer holding Michael but I know he has returned to Source and is again pure spirit and light, wrapped in the arms of Unconditional Love. He is perfect and whole. I am grateful for that. He loved and appreciated you all. Thank you for the contributions and impact YOU had on HIS life.
Namaste,
Karen Hayden
