David Lauterstein is a teacher, practitioner, and writer. He co-founded The Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in Austin in 1989.
David teaches and practices primarily Zero Balancing and Deep Massage: Lauterstein Method. His workshops are held each year at his school, as well as in Maine, England, and Costa Rica.
David is the author of Putting the Soul Back in the Body, The Deep Massage Book: How to Combine Energy and Structure in Bodywork, Life in the Bones: A Biography of Dr. Fritz Smith and Zero Balancing, and the forthcoming The Memory Palace of Bones, co-authored with Dr. Jeff Rockwell. His background prior to bodywork was in music – he has a CD of acoustic guitar for massage and meditation called Roots and Branches.
David’s private practice is located in Austin. He plans to teach a special 100-hour Zero Balancing Certification program through his school in 2023.
