Saturday June 15th, 2013 by Unity Church of the Hills
This year, in addition to holding the Picnic on Saturday (rather than Sunday), we are going off site to the Williamson County Regional Park in Leander, just off of FM 1431. The Park offers soccer fields, softball fields, a football field circled by a 400-meter track, tennis courts, basketball courts and a playscape. There is also a crushed granite hike and bike trail along the perimeter of the developed parkland.
There is also the Quarry Splash Pad, and is $1 per person (child or adult) to enter the splash pad area. Plus, you can take a ride on the Cedar Rock Railroad miniature train to view the landscapes and habitat the park has to offer. Cost to ride the train is $2.50 per person, child or adult. Children under 12 months old are free. The total area of the park encompasses almost 800 acres.
Tickets for the UCOH Father’s Day Picnic are $10 per adult, ages 13 and up, $5 per child, ages 4 & up, children ages 0-3 are free. This includes a barbeque lunch and use of park amenities (train and splash pad are extra). The Church has reserved two covered pavilions—East and West Boulder Pavilions, near the Splash Pad.
