Eighteen months ago, Australian filmmaker Bill Bennett set off around the world to make a film on fear. He wanted to know what is it – how does it work – how we can best get on top of it. He interviewed a broad range of people, including some of the world’s leading scientific and medical experts on fear.

Then the coronavirus hit, and that put a stop to production. But Bill looked around and saw people everywhere crippled with fear. And he realized there was a critical need for the kind of information
he’d gathered for his film.

So he’s created a website containing edited versions of each interview, along with up-to-date Zoom interviews discussing how to manage fear during this pandemic.

TSRT director’s note: It’s been a couple of years since we were able to visit with my good friends, Bill Bennett and his wife Jennifer, when they toured the US for Bill’s movie, PGS: Intuition Is Your Personal Guidance System. We hosted a few movie showings for TSRT and the general Austin area in early 2018. Bill also wrote the book “The Way, My Way” about walking the Camino.

Tonight, we’ll join Bill and Jennifer online – live from Australia – for a new installment in their work! Bill is currently making a sequel to PGS, about Facing Fear!

About the Instructor

Bill Bennett’s career in film spans four decades. He’s made sixteen feature films and several documentaries. His work as a feature producer and director has been recognized with two Australian Film Institute Awards, Australia’s Oscars, for Best Film and Best Director. He’s also won two of Australia’s equivalent of the Emmy for his documentary work.

Recently Bill wrote and directed, and produced alongside his partner Jennifer Cluff, a feature-length theatrical documentary on intuition, called PGS – Intuition is your Personal Guidance System. PGS screened to acclaim across Australia and the US. Bill and Jennifer are currently making a companion film called Facing Fear.

Bill is also an Adjunct Professor of Creative Industries at one of Australia’s largest universities, and Penguin Random House has just published his first novel – Palace of Fires – the first in a Young Adult trilogy.
