Saturday, October 20th, 2012 with Kay Anderson
People who take in strays or adopt second hand pets from shelters often find themselves dealing with issues a companion animal has developed as a result of traumatic events in their lives. Sometimes, issues of fear and aggression are rooted in trauma. Kay can help you unearth the reason that your pet may be exhibiting bizarre, unexplained behaviors.
We will talk about how to develop a safe environment for these animals. Kay will discuss ways of helping your companion animal deal with its trauma and possibly become less reactive or fearful. Bring photos of your companion animal for a reading that may reveal the details of what your pet experienced in their life before they came to you.
Please note that some behavior issues require the help of a compassionate behaviorist and/or veterinarian. If Kay believes that your companion animal needs these services in addition to what she can provide, you will be given referral information at the end of class. This would be an excellent class for anyone who volunteers for a shelter!
