Saturday – October 10th, 2015. With Roger Sessions.
This hands-on intimate workshop teaches how to engage directly with God’s Wisdom through the I Ching.
We will learn how to form good queries and how to interpret God’s Wisdom through the 64 archetypes of the I Ching.
We will be sharing each other’s queries, so be prepared for some intimacy! Because of this, we are limiting the number of attendees to 16.
Participants in this workshop will learn how to offer concerns to the divine presence, receive answers in the form of the 64 I Ching archetypes, and interpret these ancient archetypes in ways that will open up new possibilities for living a life centered in God. Join us, and you will learn the history of the I Ching, the biblical basis for the I Ching, and how the I Ching fits into contemporary Christian theology.
Seating limited to 16 students.
The I Ching is a 3,000 year old book of Asian wisdom and is considered one of the 100 most influential books ever written. For Christians, the I Ching is a tool for discerning God’s will. This workshop is one of the first to present this venerable work from a modern Christian perspective.
Carl Jung wrote of the I Ching, “The I Ching insists upon self-knowledge throughout. It is not for the frivolous-minded and immature. It is appropriate only for thoughtful and reflective people who like to think about what they do and what happens to them.”
About The Instructor
The Workshop will be led by Roger Sessions, founder of The Christian I Ching Society and author of The Christian I Ching. He is a Benedictine Oblate, a Spiritual Director, an expert in the I Ching, and a pioneer in exploring the synergies between the I Ching and Christian spirituality.
