The Amala Foundation is grateful to announce The 6th Annual Global Youth Peace Summit which will take place August 12th-19th, 2012 in Marble Falls, Texas. We feel incredibly blessed for the opportunity to come together again in such a rare and powerful way.
For those of you that are not familiar with the Global Youth Peace Summit… The Summit unites local, national, refugee, immigrant and international youth for an eight-day peace conference, devoted to heart-centered dialogue, compassionate service, cultural awareness, authentic expression and exploration of self and world.
Bringing together 70 youth from over 25 different countries, the Summit is a sustainable peace movement where cultural, religious and personal differences are respected and celebrated and our humanity is acknowledged as the thread that unites us all. It offers young people, sometimes for the first time in their lives, a direct experience of what it means to live in unity and peace.
This year, change brings good things. For the first time, we have moved the Summit to a new location: Camp Champions, in Marble Falls, Texas. We’ve loved our time at John Knox and have simply grown beyond the meeting space there. Camp Champions will offer us a new and fresh experience, and we welcome this evolution.
Registration is officially open and applications for youth and volunteers are now available. Please know that due to the overwhelming interest in this year’s Summit, we do not have the capacity to accept all youth applicants and volunteers. Please understand that we are doing our best to consider and serve the whole. In order to be considered, it is essential that you turn your application in on time. You can find both volunteer and youth applications below.
We invite you to join this movement as we come together as One Village to deepen in service, love, respect, honesty, and community. This is a beautiful time of the year, and we hope that you can get involved in some way to experience first-hand the grace that is the Global Youth Peace Summit.
