There is always some aspect of ourselves that we would like to change, forgive and release; things that we would like to cleanse from our consciousness. The Burning Bowl Ceremony, on New Year’s Eve, is a symbolic way to start anew and rid ourselves of the old pictures in our heads, replacing them with a new way of viewing ourselves and our world.

Sunday December 11th, 2011 - Presented by Unity Church of the Hills. Don’t miss this year’s Holiday Extravaganza! The Extravaganza is a church-wide Christmas event, featuring the incredible musical talent of UCOH, with entertainment for all ages. This year’s show, “Channel Surfing Christmas,” is about Dad who falls asleep on top of the television remote while watching TV. In addition to wonderful music and songs, the Prancing Papas are scheduled to return to enhance the stage.

As a child, Don Miguel Ruiz, Jr., listened to the stories of his father, who passed on the ancient beliefs of his family through tales his young son could understand. As Miguel Jr. grew older he learned to listen to more than just the words of the story, but to search beyond the superstition to find truth and meaning. He was just 14 when he became an apprentice to his father and grandmother, translating her workshops and lessons from Spanish to English. Finding the right words for in both languages to explain faith and its power gave Miguel Jr. a significant understanding of his family's traditions.

Kids Poised for Success Summer Camp with Kathryn Hume
Monday Through Friday - July 18-22, 2011 - Kids ages 9-12. - Campers will perform for each other and do improvisation, role-play and socialize, and brush up on their etiquette! This camp has a proven track record of helping kids open up their self-expression, improve social and communication skills and learn to embrace a healthy self-concept. In the process of acquiring these tools, kids gain confidence and learn to be happy in their own skin! The camp concludes on Friday with a short performance (and juice) called "Poetry and Punch."
