The “outer planets” are often called the “transcendental planets.” They don’t have classical rulership over the signs, and aren’t used in Vedic Astrology, but their energy is undeniable in the lives of those who have opened their awareness to CHOICE. They mediate between the fixed fate of the material world and the gods’ (our) abilities to mediate everyday reality: but only if you know their dance and don’t get caught in their traps.

The outer planets are highly active in the sky these days: meaning they are making many hard aspects and are changing signs, meaning, of course, that all of us are feeling their influence. The wiser we are in dealing with these dance partners, the better the future we invite.

Anne Beversdorf has been a full-time consulting astrologer since 1993, and has worked with over 14,000 individuals using both Western and Vedic astrology in her practice, now based in Austin, Texas. Her article, “Dancing Lessons for Pluto Encounters” is featured in the June issue of The Mountain Astrologer. She earned a BA Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas in Austin and a Master’s degree in Information Science from Indiana University.

Anne is a former board member of the Astrological Society of Austin and currently serves on the Council of the Institute of Noetic Sciences Austin group. An accomplished fine artist, Anne creates miniature jeweled tapestries of sacred art (see Sacred-Threads.com) and is currently completing a book on planetary archetypes and remedies. THE ASTROLOGICAL SOCIETY OF AUSTIN (ASA) is a nonprofit membership organization established in 2006 dedicated to mentoring the study of astrology in Central Texas. The ASA hosts monthly lectures, quarterly educational workshops, retreats and social events. We are a group of astrologers, astrology students and curious persons with a common interest in astrology, the ancient wisdom science. Some of us are mentors; some of us are neophytes; all are welcome and part of the synergy. Collectively we share a passion for learning about astrology and the endlessly fascinating exploration of the many areas to which this ancient study yields insight.

Often a more solitary pursuit, our group energy provides an opportunity for reflective contemplation, an appreciation for the magnificent symphony of our universe and the codes beautifully designed within it, the sharing and development of ideas and the real possibility that we can contribute value to the world, both personally and professionally. And it is also true that we like to get together and have fun! Come join us.

Monthly lectures on a variety of astrological topics on the third Friday of the month at 7 pm at the Remedy Center for the Healing Arts, 4910 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas 78756.  Lecture admission for members $5, guests $8. Annual membership is $25. The night you join lecture admission is waived. Membership is not required to attend most lectures and events.
